This series of 24 lectures will cover a wide range of topics related to human security – including nuclear power, forest sustainability, sexual slave trade in Kosovo, biochar, and many more thought-provoking topics. Please join us for a free public talk on Investing in repression in Honduras and Guatemala by Grahame Russell on Monday September 24th at 7pm in Room 2-214 at OISE (Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at 252 Bloor Street West, Toronto, ON). Grahame Russell will talk discuss how Canadian companies and investors, supported by the Canadian government, contribute to and benefit from repression and a lack of democracy in Honduras and Guatemala. Donations to Rights Action appreciated.
In cooperation with University College, Science for Peace will bring Mark Z Jacobson (Stanford) to lecture on A Plan to Power 100 Percent of the Planet with Renewables. The public lecture will take place on October 15th from 4-6pm in Room 140 of University College at the University of Toronto (15 King’s College Circle). Please click here to register.

Winter 2013: Public Health in a Nuclear Age This 12 week course will introduce students to the complexities of nuclear power, nuclear weapons and how they help shape our societies. Topics include: -Risk Assessment in Technology, the Environment, Economics, and Security. -Can We Have a World Free of Nuclear Weapons and Still Have Nuclear Power? -The Nuclear Disarmament and Non-proliferation Regime
