William (Bill) Gladwin Parfitt

Dec. 28, 1924 – July 12, 2025

We note, with sadness, the passing of William (Bill) Parfitt, a long-time peace activist and supporter of Science for Peace. His service in the RCAF in World War II taught him the horrors of war, especially the deaths of several of his friends. In “retirement”, Bill developed a Peace Park at his farm near North Bay. On the event of his 100^th birthday, Bill took peace as his topic in his address at the local Legion Hall. He leaves behind not only a large family, but also an example of how to live a full and compassionate life.
